1. General information on data processing

We process personal data of our users only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website as well as our content and services. Personal data is generally only processed with the user's consent or where processing is permitted by law.

2. Legal bases for processing

  • Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR – consent
  • Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR – performance of a contract and pre-contractual measures
  • Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR – compliance with legal obligations
  • Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – legitimate interests

3. Provision of the website and server log files

Each time our website is accessed, our hosting provider automatically collects information that your browser transmits to our server, in particular:

  • Anonymised IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the file accessed
  • Website from which the access is made (referrer URL)
  • Browser used, operating system and language setting

Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR to ensure stable and secure operation. The data is deleted after seven days at the latest, unless security-relevant events require longer storage.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by an external service provider (processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR). Personal data collected during the operation of the website is processed on the hoster's servers. A data processing agreement has been concluded with the provider that ensures GDPR-compliant handling of personal data.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form, by e-mail or by phone, your information (e.g. name, e-mail address, content of your message) will be stored in order to process your enquiry and for the case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your enquiry).

The data collected will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose of its collection and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

6. Cookies

Our website uses only technically necessary cookies that are required for the proper operation of the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and § 25 (2) no. 2 TTDSG). No tracking or marketing cookies are used.

7. Embedded fonts

The fonts "IBM Plex Sans" and "IBM Plex Mono" are served locally from our own server. No connection to Google servers is established and no data is transmitted to third parties.

8. Data security

We use SSL/TLS encryption to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in the address bar of your browser.

9. Disclosure of data

Your personal data will only be transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, there is a legal obligation, you have expressly consented or this is necessary to safeguard legitimate interests. Transfers to third countries outside the EEA only take place in compliance with the legal requirements (Art. 44 et seq. GDPR).

10. Storage period

Personal data is only stored for as long as is necessary to fulfil the respective purpose or for which statutory retention obligations exist (in particular under German commercial and tax law, generally 6 to 10 years).
